Board of Education Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 26

The Sheridan Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the board room at SOAR Academy, 4107 S. Federal Blvd. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The agenda includes an update and reminder regarding the candidate forum for Sheridan City Council, Sheridan Mayor, and Sheridan Board of Education candidates (Wednesday, September 27th at 6 p.m. at Sheridan City Hall); an update on pupil count; an update on budget and finance; and an update on plans for Sheridan Celebrates (Saturday, Sept. 30).

Fort Logan Northgate School principal Nelson Van Vranken and Alice Terry Elementary School principal Joe Hayes will provide the board with overviews of their academic achievement results and their plans for improvement.

The consent agenda includes personnel recommendations; financial recommendations, approval of minutes (Aug. 22, 2017 meeting); Academic Handbooks (for Sheridan High School and SOAR Academy); approval of various out of state and overnight trips for sports, academics, and student leadership; and a change in the board policy regarding online and blended learning programs.

Time will also be allotted for public comment. All audience comments are limited to five minutes.
