Thirty-Five Sheridan High School Juniors and Seniors Inducted Into National Honor Society

Thirty-five Sheridan High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society yesterday (Nov. 1) in the high school auditorium. Students are selected, and recommended by teachers, for their scholarship, character, leadership and service to the community.

“I’m really proud of what you have accomplished,” said Shirley Miles, Chief Academic Officer for Sheridan School District 2. “Thank you for representing Sheridan High School, you’ll always be in my heart.”

Superintendent Pat Sandos told the students that students with good character are those that do the right thing when nobody else is looking. “You understand the importance of ‘this is my community, I’m going to serve my community, and I’m going to make this a better community than when I got here.’ Congratulations,” he said.

And Sheridan High School principal Eileen Doolan lauded the students for lifting up school pride. She also quoted John Quincy Adams. “He said ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are leaders,’” said Doolan. “It is an honor for me to congratulate each and every one of you to today.”
