A Message from Superintendent, Dr. Thompson.

The Sheridan School District Board of Education and Superintendent are aware of the union’s stated intention to strike in the coming days. First and foremost, the District is prepared to continue serving students and supporting families with the least amount of disruption possible, and remain open.  Our priority remains the safety, supervision, and education of Sheridan students, and we are taking the steps necessary to maintain continuity for our community.

While we understand and respect the decision that has been made, the District reiterates its steadfast willingness to return to the table and work toward a new agreement consistent with District policy and procedure. The modernization of a new agreement is necessary to ensure long-term sustainability, operational clarity, and fiscal responsibility for the benefit of both our staff and the students we serve.

We are grateful for the hard work, dedication, and care that Sheridan staff show our students and families each day. Sheridan is strongest when we work together, and the District remains committed to moving forward in good faith with a focus on stability, respect, and the best interests of students.

Again, Sheridan schools will remain open and prepared each day to welcome and serve our students as they arrive.
