Dear Sheridan School District 2 Families,
We want to make you aware that the leadership of the Sheridan Education Association (SEA) has called for an employee strike beginning tomorrow, April 1, and is encouraging staff across roles not to report to work.
Over the past several days, we have worked diligently to keep our schools open and operating for students and families. However, due to current and anticipated staff absences, we will not have enough personnel to safely maintain normal school operations.
To prioritize student safety, all Sheridan schools will be closed for in-person learning from Wednesday, April 1 through Friday, April 3. These days will be considered non-contact days for students.
While schools will be closed for instruction, we will continue to support our community. Grab-and-go lunch meals will be available for students and families at Fort Logan Northgate during this time.
We understand that this disruption creates challenges for our students, families, and community, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility. Sheridan School District 2 remains committed to working in good faith with SEA to reach an agreement that supports our students, values our educators, and is fiscally responsible to our community.
District leadership and the Board of Education remain focused on productive dialogue and finding common ground. We are committed to returning to the negotiating table and are hopeful for a timely resolution.

Queremos informarles que la dirección de la Sheridan Education Association (SEA) ha convocado a una huelga de empleados a partir de mañana, 1 de abril, y está instando al personal de todos los roles a no presentarse a trabajar.
Durante los últimos días, hemos trabajado diligentemente para mantener nuestras escuelas abiertas y operativas para los estudiantes y las familias. Sin embargo, debido a las ausencias de personal actuales y previstas, no contaremos con el personal suficiente para mantener de manera segura el funcionamiento escolar habitual.
Para priorizar la seguridad de los estudiantes, todas las escuelas de Sheridan permanecerán cerradas para el aprendizaje presencial desde el miércoles 1 de abril hasta el viernes 3 de abril. Estos días se considerarán días sin contacto para los estudiantes.
Si bien las escuelas permanecerán cerradas para la instrucción, continuaremos brindando apoyo a nuestra comunidad. Durante este periodo, habrá almuerzos para llevar disponibles para los estudiantes y las familias en Fort Logan Northgate.
