Latest Message from Sheridan Schools

April 16, 2026

We want to provide an update regarding the ongoing strike and our negotiations with the Sheridan Education Association (SEA).

We have been and remain committed to a good-faith, fact-based discussion and collaboration with our educators on the important issues at hand. Throughout this process, the district has remained flexible, offering multiple options and demonstrating a willingness to adjust its position in an effort to reach an agreement that is good for our entire community. Unfortunately, SEA has continued to present the same requests, giving no indication of a willingness or openness to finding common ground. As a result, valuable time is being spent repeating the same discussions, with little progress toward a compromise.

At this time, we find ourselves at yet another impasse. This is disappointing and frustrating to us, as I'm sure it is to you. It does not change, however, our steadfast commitment to our students and community.

The district will continue to focus on academics, safety, and providing meaningful learning opportunities that serve our students every day. We remain hopeful that productive dialogue will resume, and we remain ready to return to the table when there is an openness to shared commitment to collaborating and finding common ground.

Thank you for being a part of the Sheridan School District 2 community and for your continued support of our students, staff, and schools.
