Sheridan High School hosted a safety shoe distribution event for students enrolled in the district’s Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) Program, a 120-hour apprenticeship-readiness program developed by North America's Building Trades Unions (NABTU).
Representatives from Work Wear Safety and Saf-Gard Safety Shoe Company parked a mobile store outside the school, allowing students to select a free pair of safety shoes as they prepare for hands-on learning and careers in the skilled trades.
The MC3 program prepares students for registered apprenticeships and careers in construction through industry-aligned instruction, career exploration experiences, and connections with industry professionals. Students are introduced to careers in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, welding, HVAC, and heavy-equipment operation.
