Every Sheridan student receives high-quality, standards-aligned instruction grounded in strong teaching, engaging learning experiences, and CDE-approved research-based curriculum. Our classrooms emphasize critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and real-world learning experiences that prepare students for success in college, careers, and beyond.



Curriculum


English Language Arts

Students build strong reading, writing, speaking, and thinking skills through research-based practices and the science of reading.  Our curricular resources provide rich literature, explicit instruction, time for collaborative discussions, and daily writing practice.


ELA Programs                                   



Mathematics

Students solve real-world problems, explain their thinking, collaborate with peers, and develop mathematical fluency and confidence. Our curricular resources empower diverse learners to think critically and be unique problem solvers.


Math Programs

Science

Students investigate real-world phenomena through hands-on learning, inquiry, experiments, and the 5E instructional model. Our curricular resources engage students in daily reading, writing, and exploration to build understanding of the world around them. 


Science Program

Social Studies

Students explore history, geography, civics, and economics through primary sources, inquiry, discussion, and multiple perspectives. Our elementary curriculum builds on the literacy skills taught in the ELA blocks, providing additional time for reading and writing about the world.  At the secondary level, students engage in disciplinary literacy to strengthen problem-solving skills and global awareness.
