Crisis Services

Our team is extensively trained in mental health crisis intervention and response however if you are concerned that somebody is at risk of hurting themselves or somebody else, please contact 911.  We work closely with our law enforcement agencies and have a team approach to crisis response.  If a mental health crisis arises at school, our staff will follow our district protocols for response, assessment, and intervention.  We will notify the student’s parents or guardians as soon as possible and work closely with families in regards to getting any services or support needed.  Sheridan School District partners closely with the Colorado School Safety Resource Center and utilized the Colorado Threat Assessment and Management Protocol.

Our administrators and mental health team are trained in the PREPaRE crisis intervention model in case we have an event that impacts many members of our school or community.  For more information on this model, please click here.
