With a deep-rooted passion for helping young people and a commitment to service, I approach my role with a focus on meeting students where they are and empowering them to reach their full potential. I am equally committed to supporting our talented staff, providing them with the resources and structures needed to make a meaningful impact in our students' lives. Hello, my name is Katherine Guerrero, and I am currently serving as the Principal Secretary and Family Liaison at SOAR. I began my journey with the Sheridan School District in 2022, having previously worked as the Health and Attendance Clerk at Sheridan High School before recently transferring to SOAR. I grew up in Littleton but now live in Englewood with my husband, three children, and two dogs. We are a soccer family, and I enjoy working out and hiking in my free time. I am thrilled to be part of the SOAR team and look forward to fostering strong, positive relationships with each of our students. I am excited to see all that the future holds for SOAR!

My name is Karen Galindo and I am the Student Engagement Coordinator at SOAR Academy. I work side by side with our families to make sure our students feel supported in every step of their education and help students reach their highest potential. In my free time, I love spending time with family and my 3 dogs, traveling and exploring new places.

I am a passionate, caring, fun and calm teacher. I deeply believe in taking care of your mind, body and soul. I love to exercise (especially run), read (especially Stephen King) and play card and board games. My wife is my inspiration. She has overcome tragedy to lead by example through art therapy. We have wonderful 3 kids; 2 grown, 1 in college.

Hi, I'm Sarah Mohr, a special education teacher with a Bachelor's in Education and currently working on my Master's in Administration. I recently traded cornfields for mountains and moved from Indiana to Colorado for a fresh start and a little adventure. I love building real connections with students, creating a fun and supportive learning environment, and bringing good vibes wherever I go. Outside of school, you can find me in the kitchen trying new recipes, dreaming up my next travel destination, or hanging with my dog Jackson.

I have been an educator for twenty-five years in many different locations and capacities. I’ve taught all across Colorado, in California, Lithuania, and Jordan. I’ve taught everyone from infants to adults, from English to Theatre. My favorite part about being an English teacher is to witness the power of literacy–how it can positively impact so many aspects of a student’s life. When I’m not teaching reading and writing, I’m practicing my own skills through participating in a variety of book clubs and writing groups. I also love to go to the theatre, practice daily yoga, take nature walks and hikes, and travel internationally. I have been married twenty-seven years to my college sweetheart and have two adult daughters and two dogs.

My name is Mitchell Petersen, I have been teaching math for 6 years now and am very excited to continue my journey at SOAR Academy! I hold a Bachelors in Mathematics and a Masters in Teaching with an emphasis of teaching math. I was born and raised in Colorado and joined the United States Marine Corp after I graduated high school. I love the outdoors, am an adventure seeker, I love to cook and talk about food, and I am slightly obsessed with bowling. I love to travel and go camping in the summer, and love to snowboard in the winter.
