Diego Romero, Principal
My name is Diego Romero and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Alice Terry
Elementary principal. I am honored to have been selected to join the Sheridan School District 2,
which is known for their focus on meeting students’ needs. Over the last nine years I have been
a teacher and a school principal in Colorado, however, I consider being a student advocate the
most important aspect of my career. As your child’s principal, I will take the time needed to
learn about your child in order to support them and guide them to their full potential. Together,
we will celebrate their accomplishments and encourage them to do their best every day.
Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I also look forward to working
with you as partners in your child’s education. An old African Proverb states, “It takes a village
to raise a child.” This holds true at Alice Terry. Therefore, I am excited for you to meet the
talented and dedicated team that is here to serve your family. I cannot wait to share with you
the great things your children will be experience throughout their time at Alice Terry Elementary.
My goal is to ensure each student is ready for third grade in all content areas by providing them
with an educational setting that is safe, challenging, and fun! This has been my educational
philosophy since I started teaching. My first teaching position was in Michigan working with
high school students teaching them Spanish as a second language. I then moved to Colorado
taught middle school and finally found my niche at the elementary level, where I have been for
the last seven years.
I am grateful for the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to
your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your child.
